Daniel and Bobbi. Whispers.

The father of the groom is one of my dearest friends and every time I went to their home to visit I would ask where Daniel was. Muffled sounds of laughter and clicking from a video game controller would come from behind his bedroom door. Both of Daniel’s parents would smile and say, ‘Talking to Bobbiiiiii.’ After awhile, I stopped asking because I already knew what a closed door and giggles meant.
People meet online all the time but Bobbi and Daniel met in an very nontraditional online way. Wearing headsets they were battling in a online video game chat room. Together they talked and played games on their headsets getting to know each other until the frequency of their conversations was so much that they knew they couldn’t live apart.
Bobbi made the move from Arizona to New Mexico, with her dog, to be with Daniel. Before our eyes, Daniel emerged from his room leaving the headphones behind. The popular answer of ‘Talking to Bobbiiiii’ turned into, ‘He’s with Bobbiiiii.’
On Saturday, as the wind blew Bobbi’s veil across her face, Daniel proclaimed his promises of loving his princess forever. Bobbi sweetly and softly whispered her vows, as if behind closed doors, just loud enough for Daniel to hear.
A dove watched from a light post.
The brides mother watched from the other room.
An angel thought.
Uncle Omar watched from a reflection.
Turbo witnessed the footsteps across the floor from his bed.
Mother and son.
Mom, dad and son.
Wowzers! So pretty Bobbi.
The bride and her sister.
Dinky watched as everyone left for the ceremony.
Family and friends saw from their seats. The sun watched from high.
I watched from a new perspective.
My assistant captured a kiss that no one else saw.
They went about their nontraditional ways.
A plane and veil flew.
Inside out too.
The dove heard them laugh.
A great grandpa held his glass for the toast.
The champagne bubbled as they kissed.
And balanced in their glasses as they giggled.
They battled. Bobbi took the win with a flower power to the face.
The controller held their rings, while busy conversations took place throughout the house. Daniel and Bobbi sat on the edge of the couch just loud enough for only one another to hear what was being said.
